Back To School In September Well the August sun settles down to sleep And it cools your sunburnt face We may have watched every single one But this one takes first place As the colours move across the sky Like the ribbons through your hair One last kiss, never felt like this I’m floating through the air Well I’ve only been in love with you for fourteen days But it’s back to school in September And we both have to go our separate ways When I left home never thought I’d find Somebody quite like you Another summer away with my folks No friends, no fun, no nothing new But then you came and joined me Skimming stones across the sea And we’ve spent each day of our time away Running happy and carefree Well I’ve only been in love with you for fourteen days But it’s back to school in September And we both have to go our separate ways Sneaking out our windows to hold hands till dawn Oh why does it have to end Well a single tear rolls down your cheek It reflects the lonely moon It’s hard to say goodbye I know So let’s call it ‘see you soon’ The summer may be over now But for us it’s just begun A parting glance of a sweet romance Dancing in the rising sun Well I’ve only been in love with you for fourteen days But it’s back to school in September Well I’ve only been in love with you for fourteen days But I guess that I’ll be coming back Next year anyway

Cloud Ten 03:47
Cloud Ten I thought my life was over I was ready to roll over and accept my fate I’d left it much too late But out of the blue you found me When I was lost and lonely And you led me home Crazy from first hello I fell in love Head over heals again and again And now every time you look at me I feel I’m on cloud ten I thought I’d wasted my last Chance for a perfect romance I was doomed to be Forever lost at sea But when I washed up on the shore You picked me up from the floor And you led me home Crazy from first hello I fell in love Head over heals again and again And now every time you kiss me I feel I’m on cloud ten You don’t know high till you’ve been so low Even if it doesn’t show Oh the sun doesn’t shine so brightly On plain old cloud number nine I fell in love Head over heals again and again And now every time you look at me Oh every time you look at me And every time you kiss me I feel I’m on cloud ten

Northern Wind She lived where the sea is wild and the wind cuts through your clothes she told me to wait at the end of her street cause her daddy didn’t know Her jeans were as frayed as my hair They brought the puddles up to her knees But that smile was enough for me From the north It blows strong Across the estuary But love keeps me holding on By the waves she held my hand We let them crash right over our feet The salt in the air made her hair wrap itself round my fingers in the breeze But soon the tide rolled on out And love left us behind Life forced us to say goodbye From the north It blows strong Across the estuary But love keeps me holding on Burns your face as it passes through Like the tears that you cried for her Blows those memories right back to you The ships are all turning for home Bringing with them fish for the fryers Guided by the lights on the shore and the stars in the sky Waves meet their fate one by one they wash away the words in the sand We may always find new love but it wont be the same From the north It blows strong Across the estuary But love keeps me holding on

Just Another Thursday Seven am already losing my mind Alarm clocks are ringing and there’s sleep in my eyes Outside the rain forms a river that drags me head first down the drain The only thing saving my life is the thought that i’ll see you again Just another thursday Just another day Day four there’s only one more to go Just another thursday Then another day Count down to the weekend I just can’t wait to have just another day with you Eleven am and time is going so slow Stomach is rumbling and there’s hours to go Watching the clock on the wall but each time the hands hardly move But every second I watch brings me a second closer to you Just another thursday Just another day Day four there’s only one more to go Just another thursday Then another day Count down to the weekend I just can’t wait to have just another day with you Sometimes I wish that my life was a movie, you know what I’d do? Yeah I’d fast forward the weeks but rewind the nights spent with you Just another thursday Just another day Day four there’s only one more to go Just another thursday Then another day Count down to the weekend I just can’t wait to have just another day with you

I’d Rather Hear You Lie If your heart has been fixed And you’ve found someone new If you’re in love And he loves you too If your knees grow weak When he looks in your eyes Well I think that I’d rather hear you lie Please don’t tell me how He keeps you warm at night Don’t tell me how It feels so right And don’t let me know That your tears have been dried Cause I think that I’d rather hear you lie I was a fool to let you go And now I know what I’ve lost It’s so cruel, the truth hurts me so I’ll never know why I said goodbye I don’t care how you melt When he kisses your lips Or how your heart races When you’re pressed close to his No I don’t want to know Cause I know I would cry So I think that I’d rather hear you lie

You & Me 04:25
You & Me Listen to those wolves howling through the gap under our door Let me wrap you in this blanket, lift your feet up off the floor Let the windows rattle, let our stomachs growl There’s enough wood on the fire, at least for now Hold me close at least for now I wish love could put food on the table Cause you know, girl, we’d never go hungry again I wish love could buy a house to hide away from this cold, girl, we’d live like royalty You and me Listen to my heart, it beats faster as I say your name Let me hold you in my arms while we stare into the flames Let them come and get us let them hunt us down We’ll make it through together just don’t ask how I’ll keep you warm just don’t ask how I wish love could put food on the table Cause you know, girl, we’d never go hungry again I wish love could buy a house to hide away from this cold, girl, we’d live like royalty You and me Somebody else could give you everything you dreamed of But I can’t offer you that much But I’ll give my life and I’ll ask nothing in return If love was money I’d have money to burn I wish love could put food on the table Cause you know, girl, we’d never go hungry again I wish love could buy a house to hide away from this cold, girl, we’ll live till we’re a hundred years old We’ll be free You and me Listen to those wolves, sneaking closer as the fire fades I can feel their yellow eyes fall upon us from the shade

Backseat Girl Diesel and dirt finally screeched to a halt The steps were too high for my feet I stumbled aboard in my oversized clothes The doors hissed and creaked as they struggled to close I paid the bully the money I owed All eyes on me as we pulled away slow But she kept her eyes on the street Chewing her gum, ignoring the world She had a band on her T-shirt that i’d probably never heard of I bet their songs were all about her Don’t waste your time You can try, you can try But you’ll never be cool enough for Backseat Girl I was growing up fast I was styling my hair I was desperate to catch her eye But she’d always be in that world of her own Where guitars are heavy and the drums explode Her T-shirts became my Rolling Stone So many records that I had to buy Well she was older than me and she was learning to drive There were rumours that her boyfriend was nearly twenty five My friends all told me I was out of my mind They said ‘Don’t waste your time You can try, you can try But you’ll never be cool enough for Backseat Girl’ Well I remember the day she made me a man There was only one free seat She saw my guitar and my time had come She called me over and I sat down stunned I tried to speak but I’d lost my tongue She said ‘you’re sweet but you’re a bit too young but i’ll give you a kiss on the cheek’ Well it was almost a week before I washed my face I was grinning so hard that my cheeks began to ache Everybody asked me to teach them how But I said ‘Don’t waste your time You can try, you can try But you’ll never be cool enough for Backseat You’ll never be cool enough for the backseat You’ll never be cool enough for Backseat Girl’

Coming Back To You Every mile is a pain in my heart A thousand more for every second we’re apart Every minute that passes me by Makes it harder and harder to keep these eyes dry Well I feel so lonely But I’m coming back to you It’s been far too long I’m coming back to you Stop your crying Don’t feel so blue Well I hear you calling me I’m coming back to you Come on, wheels don’t you dare slow me down Come on, headlights you know where we are bound Come on, coffee keep my eyes open wide Won’t you get me home quickly so I can be by her side Well I feel so lonely But I’m coming back to you It’s been far too long I’m coming back to you Stop your crying Don’t feel so blue Well I hear you calling me I’m coming back to you Close to empty but I’m closer to you Not much further, think I’m gonna get through I’m in tatters, don’t know how I’m alive But I’ll be in your arms when the dawn arrives Well I feel so lonely But I’m coming back to you It’s been far too long I’m coming back to you Stop your crying Don’t feel so blue Well I hear you calling me I’m coming back to you

Someday 01:59
Someday Someday we’ll never have to cry There’ll be no point in telling lies I know there’ll be no need for suffering and greed No handkerchiefs to wipe our guilty tears Someday we’ll never have to paint A phoney smile upon our face No longer have to keep our secrets buried deep Our faces will reflect a better scene When we realise we’re all the same Then our world will all come good No need to beg for answers from above Cause love will hold us by the hand and take us to a better land And finally we’ll see our children will be free Forever to live in peace Forever to live in peace

Strangers 04:47
Strangers Back when we were nothing more than strangers Just names and numbers written in a phone Casting nervous glances across a crowded room Oh we longed for the world to leave us both alone Back then I didn’t love you At least I hadn’t realised Cause I was busy chasing my own broken heart You were just another pair of pretty eyes to talk to I suppose that’s just the way it always starts Cause love creeps up behind you and covers up your eyes And whispers sweet things in your ears But love can be a coward sometimes And quietly disappear I may not love you in another five years You might not want me tomorrow Both of us know it can come it can go It can run away with your heart I may not love you in another five years Oh it’s such a long time But I love you tonight, just like every night as our nights have turned into years So let’s worry about tomorrow when it’s here I know it’s never easy, life gets in the way There were times I thought we never had a chance But each time that we broke in two and smashed upon the floor Somehow we held it together with glue I never tried to promise you Things I’d never give I’d be lying if I offered you the stars But everything I have Is right before your eyes And for now it’s yours I may not love you in another five years You might not want me tomorrow Both of us know it can come it can go It can run away with your heart I may not love you in another five years Oh it’s such a long time But I love you tonight, just like every night as our nights have turned into years So let’s worry about tomorrow when it’s here Let’s stay like strangers
